SATURDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER

KNOWLE GIRLS 1 V 2 WOODLOES ANGELS

This was our first game in the girls league and did we pick a day for it.

rain rain and more rain welcome to british weather,

first of all wooodloes angels would like to thank Knowle girls for there warm welcome in a cold day and to Dean their manager for being very helpfull thank you.

Now for the angels this game was never going to be a clasic but what it did have was big heart from all the player for giving it all for the team and the supporters.

I would like to mention the older head in the team for helping the new player, for this was their first ever game. thank you.

we do have a lot to work on but we are going the right direction.

Saturday 13th September

WOODLOES ANGELS 5 V 1 RUBERY GIRLS

Today’s game was a game of courage from one team and patients from the anther.

Rubery turned up with only 8 players and with their performance made lots of friends with the Woodloes supports and player very well done Rubert Girls.

For Woodloes it was all about can we break the 8 player defence down? The answer was yes with 4 goals from jess and one from Georgia and a few misses from our strikers the game was all over in the first half.

We still have a lot of work to do on shooting, passing and positions but not on team sprit we have that in abundance.

SATURDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

WOODLOES ANGELS 3 V 2 LEAMINGTON LIONS

I always think you should start by saying thanks to the opposition Leamington Lions for making this game a classic, they are a very good side and will do very well this season.

Well for the angels I couldn’t ask anymore from the girls they worked so hard for each other and the woodloes sprit was there for all to see.

I will not give you a ball to ball report all I say is come down a see the angel’s play their hard work and sprit will entertain their a credit to Woodloes Juniors Football Club.

We still have 4 players to put in this side so let’s keep our feet on the ground and work hard and we will have a good season.

Well Done Angels 10 out of 10.

Saturday 01^st November

WOODLOES ANGELS 1 KNOWLE GIRLS 0

If you think girl’s football has not moved on, then you should have been at this game.

I have been involved in boy’s football for over 9 years and this year I have concentrated on the girls side and I have been rewarded with probably the best game in years; and that is a credit to the Angels & Knowle Girls.

I don’t have time to mention all the incidents but I will mention Hannah our sub goalie.

When Jo got injured after 10 min’s we all looked around for help and there was our Hannah ready for business and stayed in goal until the second half and looked the part, (thank you Hannah).

My second mention was the double act!!!!!! Jess & Charlotte, they must of ran miles today for the team and both were given the accolade of Angels of the match.

Then the goal to win the game!!!!! Charlotte receives the ball from Ali down the right, takes on the left back, cuts in to her left then, so cool, just chips the keeper from just inside the 18 yard box. A very good individual goal.

The opposition, Knowle Girls, was a very good side and pushed us all the way. If we had lost today I would not be an unhappy manager, Knowle are strong, well drilled and a very good passing team and are a credit to Dean their manager and Knowle Girls football Club.

SATURDAY 8^th NOVEMBER

LEAMINGTON LIONS 2 V 3 WOODLOES ANGELS

The Angels went to Leamington Lion which were in some good form, and if they wanted to get anything out of the game they would have to play well.

The angel sat back in the first 10 minutes and let Lions come on to them, then with a long ball through the middle of the lions back line to Charlotte to get a one on one with the keeper but she just put it past the post.

The Angels then started to put more pressure on Leamington and with a low cross in to the box all the angels missed it and the ball was cleared,

Then came Leamington Goal, a big kick from the keeper went over our defenders to Leamingtons winger who put the ball in the net 1 v 1 at half time.

The second half started like the first half with a lot of play in the middle of the pitch but then Charlotte made a good run inside their defender, she was found by Jess and with the keeper coming out Charlotte cooly put the ball in the net 2 v1 to the Angels.

With only 5 minutes on the clock Lion went down the right wing and with a tackle by Demi the referee decided the tackle was unfair and gives a pen. Leamington took their pen well to make it 2 v 2. Then with the game looking like a draw along comes miss Carter she get the ball just in the Lions half takes on 3 player and with only 1 minute left she chipped the keeper from 25yards 3 v 2 to the Angels.
